Skin Cancer Education and Self-Examination

Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers, affecting more than two million Americans each year. If diagnosed and treated early, it is the easiest to cure.

How to Perform a Skin Cancer Self-Examination

The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends that everyone practice monthly head-to-toe self examination of their skin.

The ABCDEs of Melanoma

We encourage patients to look for the ABCDE signs of melanoma. If you observe one or more of these signs, you should make an appointment with a physician immediately.

AAD Body Mole Map

You can document your skin cancer self-examinations by using the AAD Body Mole Map to help you keep track of any spots that you notice on your body.
